Stone Sill Installation

Window sills take a beating. Sitting horizontal and fully exposed to rain, snow, and ice, they are one of the first elements of a building’s masonry to show signs of failure. Cracked concrete sills, crumbling rowlock brick sills, and deteriorated stone all allow moisture to penetrate the wall below, leading to far more costly damage if left unaddressed.

Restore / Replace / Install

We specialize in the removal and replacement of failed sills with natural limestone — a material that is not only beautiful but extremely durable in our freeze-thaw climate. Limestone sills shed water effectively, resist spalling, and complement both heritage and modern brick equally well.

Our stone sill services include:

  • Removal of failed poured concrete sills and installation of natural limestone replacements
  • Removal of deteriorated rowlock brick sills and conversion to limestone
  • Limestone step tread installation and replacement
  • Custom-cut stone sills sized and profiled to match your existing architecture
  • Proper slope and drip edge detailing to direct water away from the wall face

Every sill we install is set with a slight outward pitch and finished with clean, tight joints to ensure water runs off rather than pooling or seeping into the masonry below. It’s a detail that makes a significant difference in the long-term health of your building envelope.
